Let’s SHaG!
Welcome to the Sexual Health and Gender Research Lab at Dalhousie.
The SHaG lab is dedicated to the study of 2SLGBTQ+ health, HIV/AIDS, sexual health, Indigenous boys’ and men's health, and educational technology
As a working lab environment, we provide education, research, and opportunities to advance our understanding of sexual health. The work done here focuses on issues important to every human being, and plays an integral role in Dalhousie's Faculty of Health.
Dive into our Research
Take a look at some of the projects we are currently working on. Covering a range of issues from how sexual health and education intersect, to the history of substance use and hookups, our work is important, relevant, and grounded in poststructural and queer theories.
The People in the Lab
Our work is all about people, and it couldn’t be done without the brilliant minds inside the Lab itself. Find out more about our team and the areas of research we’re most passionate about.
Funding Sources and Grants
Funding and grants are essential to the research we do at the SHaG Lab. We’ve received generous support from the Government of Canada, Dalhousie University, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, amongst others.
